Yes, if students are participating in a Wake Forest study abroad program for either the fall or spring semesters. Contact the Center for Global Programs and Studies and Student Financial Services before enrolling to ensure that all specific program costs are included in your plan agreement. The plan is not available if students are participating in an affiliate study abroad program. These programs require students to pay costs directly to the foreign institution or study abroad organization.
-
How much does it cost to enroll in the monthly payment plan?
A nonrefundable $125 enrollment fee per semester is charged to participate in the plan. The enrollment fee is a separate transaction from the first scheduled payment and is processed immediately once the plan has been created. If the enrollment fee returns, the monthly plan agreement will automatically terminate.
Wake Forest University is committed to assisting students and families in paying for the costs associated with attending college. The monthly payment plan is an option that provides students and families an alternative method of payment. Rather than paying a semester’s tuition and fees in one lump sum, the plan allows families to spread the cost over several monthly payments.
Students and families who wish to participate in the plan are not charged interest on outstanding balances. However, an enrollment fee is charged per plan each semester. A portion of this enrollment fee is retained by the university’s third party provider and the remaining portion is remitted to the university. The portion retained by the university helps to offset the operating and administrative expenses associated with providing the plan as an option for payment.
Student Financial Services is committed to providing our students and families with the best customer service experience possible and ensuring that student financial records are updated quickly and accurately is an essential component of that commitment. Charging the enrollment fee allows Wake Forest University to continue to offer the monthly payment plan as a valuable payment option for our future Wake Forest students and families.
-
What payment methods are accepted?
Electronic funds transfer (eCheck) from a checking or savings account or a debit/credit card (MasterCard, VISA, Discover and American Express only). A convenience fee of 2.7% per transaction is charged for credit/debit card payments.
-
Can the amount of the plan or the due date be changed?
Increases and decreases will be made automatically. Students/parents should not assume that balances are automatically adjusted if financial aid is received or a class is dropped or added. Students/parents are responsible for monitoring their monthly payment account balance online.
The payment plan due dates are predetermined and can not be changed.
-
How often do I need to enroll in the monthly payment plan?
Students/parents will need to complete a new payment plan application online through Nelnet Business Solutions each semester the student chooses to enroll. Applications will only be accepted during enrollment periods.
-
What happens if I have insufficient funds to cover the payment?
Nelnet Business Solutions charges a $30 returned payment fee from the payer’s bank account or credit/debit card each time a payment is returned. After two payments return, Wake Forest reserves the right to terminate the payment plan agreement and future participation in the monthly payment plan may not be permitted.
-
What should I do if I change my bank account?
Payers are responsible for contacting Nelnet Business Solutions at 800.609.8056 at least 2 business days prior to the next scheduled payment to update bank account information. Failure to do so may result in a returned payment. A $30 returned payment fee is charged by Nelnet each time a payment is returned.
-
What is the termination policy?
Wake Forest reserves the right to terminate a monthly payment plan agreement due to returned or revoked payments. Upon termination, the person responsible for the monthly payment plan will be required to pay the University any balance due in full.
