New IRS Mileage Rates and Google Maps in Workday

Beginning January 1, 2026, the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has increased the standard mileage rate from 70 cents per mile to 72.5 cents per mile for business-related travel. For mileage driven since January 1, 2026, the new Google Maps feature in Workday should be used. Be sure to select the expense item, ’Mileage – Employee_Effective Jan 2026’ to apply the new rate.
